CN: Word count, food
Today was another solid day: 1511 words on WIP before I knocked off to spend the evening with my wife. I hit a spot that I struggled with a bit: I hadn’t blocked out a fight scene as well as I’d thought, and I was also working with a very limited timeframe in which this (short) fight could occur and didn’t want time dilation to be too extreme, so I had not really left myself an easy task. But I like what I came up with, and as with everything, I am trying to remind myself that fixing it in revision is a valid strategy. Future me may wonder what past me was thinking, though.
Just some results from the Great Sandwich Experiment: Last night I made smoked ham, horseradish cheddar, Dijon mustard, and fig-port jam on Jewish rye (Trader Joe’s, for all your Fancy Sandwich needs). Today I got to eat mine, and I was very pleased with how it came out; the little bit of black pepper really worked on this sandwich, too. I’ll keep that in my back pocket for future meal-planning.
That’s it for tonight; have a wonderful Friday, Interfriends!
