CN: word count, money mention
I got 2200 words on my WIP today.
I want to pat myself on the back and point out this is kind of a big deal not only because that is nearly half again my “adamantine tier” word count for a day’s work*, but because today saw my schedule get massively disrupted in the morning, courtesy of an appointment I forgot about (slash didn’t get a reminder about) and that would have cost me around $100 to cancel on. So this writing not only occurred in the wake of what would normally have been an anxiety-triggering event, it occurred while writing with a Bluetooth keyboard and an iPhone balanced on top of my backpack on Caltrain, and then later while writing with the same keyboard and iPhone balanced against my knit cap on the little coffee table in my psychiatrist’s waiting room. I feel amazing, but also, I want to give a shoutout to everyone who is writing in these circumstances all the time — people writing during their long commute to work, or on their lunch breaks, or in the corner of the living room on a desk that is technically an end table, or whatever circumstance you are in when you make the words go. You’re goddamn superheroes, every one of you.
That’s all for tonight; have a wonderful Wednesday, Interfriends!
